SHORT’S Burger and Shine, Iowa City
This location was originally a shoe store owned by H.D. Short from the 1920s through the 1970s. Since then it has been home to Ko’s Kitchen, The Wok, and more recently, Baldy’s Wraps. The project included installing new hardwood and tile floors, building a new bar and kitchen, remodeling restrooms, installing new doors, constructing a platform for the booth area and adding wainscot to the bar area.  All new electrical, mechanical and plumbing was also part of the project. Work on the exterior involved building a new facade and repairing the roof and front steps.
