Muscatine County Jail, Muscatine
This project involved the construction of a steel, concrete and masonry structure capable of holding up to 120 inmates. We handled all of the mechanical work including a complex smoke evacuation system, electrical and security work. We worked with the county to value engineer the project within their budget which enabled the project to remain within the original schedule. We completed a second project at the jail, which involved an addition and remodel with new paint and new doors in the existing space and construction of a new kitchen, dormitories, dayrooms, cells, restrooms, exercise areas, dry and freezer storage and a loading dock. The new portion of the project is CMU block and precast walls with a rubber membrane roof and provides 136 more beds for the facility.
