University of Iowa Hydraulics Lab, Iowa City
The restoration of this historic University of Iowa landmark on an extremely confined site made this project challenging for the construction team. The Iowa River, Burlington Street and South Riverside Drive border the building. Little room was left for material storage and staging areas. The complete renovation included new mechanical and electrical systems, a new north vestibule and a rooftop mechanical penthouse. New windows helped preserve its historic charm.
